Within July 1- 4, 2014 in the capital of the Republic of Korea, Seoul, hosted by the Korean Institute of non-proliferation and control, a regular meeting of the Implementation and Assessment Group - IAG, formed under the GICNT - Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism was held. IBRAE RAN Director L.A.Bolshov was included in the Russian delegation, and being asked by the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences V.E.Fortov took an active part in the plenary sessions of the Working Group on nuclear detection, response and overcoming situational acts of nuclear terrorism (RMWG).

Igor Osipiyants, Deputy Director of IBRAE RAN, PhD (in physics and mathematics), talented scientist and a remarkable person passed away on 27^th of June, 2014, after a grave illness.

Igor Osipiyants’s career is inseparably related to issues of radiation safety and radiation protection. Igor Osipiyants was born in Sevastopol in 1958. After school, he enrolled in the Moscow Engineering and Physical Institute (MEPhI), and successfully graduated from in 1981. Then there was a training and postgraduate study on the Chair No. 1 of MEPhI, after which he started working at the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems of the Ministry of Health of the USSR.

The exercise «Arctic-2014» was held in the territory of FSUE «Atomflot» on June 23-24. The Russian and international observers took part in the exercise.

FSUE “Atomflot” is a unique facility of the State Corporation «Rosatom», which operates and maintains a fleet of Russian civil nuclear icebreakers. The experts of IBRAE RAN organized, prepared and conducted the exercise in the framework of cooperation with the US Department of Energy. 

9 June 2014 in Moscow at business center "Gostiny Dvor" has opened the VI International forum "ATOMEXPO 2014". The forum, organized by the State Corporation on atomic energy "Rosatom"is the largest Russian exhibition and business venue for meetings of professionals of the nuclear industry, where there is a discussion of topical issues of nuclear power, forming the trends of its further development.

Founder of the Soviet Nuclear fleet Sarkisov and Swedish nuclear physicist Larsson won the "Global Energy" Prize

Award ceremony of the "Global Energy" Prize was held in the frames of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Friday, May 23. 
The Head of Oil Company "Rosneft" Igor Sechin presented the Prize.

This year the laureates of the International Energy Prize have become Swedish scientist Lars Gunnar Larsson and his Russian counterpart - Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ashot Sarkisov, who earned the award for their outstanding contribution to the improvement of nuclear power safety and decommissioning of nuclear facilities.

The Congress opened on May 20 within the framework of the International Salon "Integrated Safety-2014" held in Moscow in the territory of the National Economy Exhibition. Congress will complete its work on May 21.

The Congress was opened by the Minister of EMERCOM of the Russian Federation A.V. Puchkov, who highlighted the importance of integrated safety problems for the development of the Russian economy.

Technology Platform “Integrated Safety of Industry and Energy" was approved and included in the list of technological platforms by the decision of the Presidium of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation on economic modernization and innovative development of Russia (minutes No.2 of July 31, 2013).

Initiative of TP ISIE establishment was a response to the Order of Vladimir Putin (Minutes No.4 of meeting of the Chief Designers Board under the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation dated 07.12.2009, p.7). The President of Russia (the Prime Minister at that time), appreciating the experience of leading organizations working on the creation of safety systems in the nuclear industry, charged to consider this experience in developing measures to ensure the reliability and safety in the industry and energy sectors.

Целью конференции является расширение кругозора студентов, аспирантов и молодых специалистов в отношении технических, экономических, социальных и прочих аспектов развития и функционирования атомной отрасли, а также координация деятельности молодых учёных как внутри ИБРАЭ РАН, так и с коллегами из других институтов и организаций атомной отрасли.
В программе конференции обзорные лекции ведущих ученых отрасли, доклады молодых ученых и специалистов по тематическим направлениям.

The meeting was held at IBRAE RAN on the ROSATOM-CICE&T request within the framework of technical cooperation with the IAEA, which started training new experts in the field of nuclear safety for the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NNRA).

Obukhov, and the guests: Ayoade Oludayo Ku, nuclear expert of the Center for Energy Studies at the Port Harcourt University, Dunah Abafoni Jackson, assistant director of the Atomic Energy Commission of Nigeria, Oniemaechi Ofodile, department head of Atomic Energy Commission of Nigeria, Ebisu Agueda, chief scientist of Atomic Energy Commission of Nigeria, Francis Ibitoye, chief specialist of the Center for Nuclear Research and Development at the Obafemi Awolowo University, A.V. Goncharova, specialist of ROSATOM-CICE&T international activities department, and D.E. Skripnikov, interpreter 

On March 29, 2014, Angelina K. Gus’kova was 90 years. On March 31, the celebration meeting was held at the Academic Council of the Burnazyan Federal Medical Biological Center. Among the guests, who came to congratulate Angelina Konstantinovna, was the delegation of Nuclear Safety Institute Directorate. By the anniversary day a collected book was issued based on Gus’kova’s meetings with young scientists of IBRAE RAN.

Eminent expert in the field of shipboard nuclear energy safety problems, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ashot Sarkisov was awarded the International Energy Prize "Global Energy" for 2014, and he shared the award with Swedish scientist Lars Larsson.

Names of the winners were named on Thursday at the Moscow press conference. Sarkisov and Larsson were honored for their outstanding contribution to the development of nuclear energy, its safety enhancement and solving the radiation- environmental challenges of the Arctic zone.

The Federal Project Funding Center (FPFC) and the Nuclear Safety Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IBRAE RAN) will be engaged in joint implementation of investment projects, including the mechanism of public-private partnership (PPP).

Collaboration envisages the preparation and implementation of projects in the field of industrial and energetic safety, which are aimed at the use of research results obtained by the participants of the Technology Platform "Integrated Safety of Industry and Power Engineering " (TP ISIPE). The collaboration agreement was signed by Alexander Bazhenov, Director General of FPFC, and Vladimir Ponomarev, IBRAE Deputy Director on Strategic Development and Innovation, Chairman of the Board of TP ISIPE.
