METEOROLOGICAL THREADS IN THE REGIONS OF NRHO (NUCLEAR AND RADIATION HAZARDOUS OBJECT) LOCATION

The unique automated early warning system for meteorological hazards "SVETOFOR" has been developed at the initiative of Nuclear Safety Institute in cooperation with the State Organization "Hydrometcenter of Russia". The "SVETOFOR" system is superior to existing domestic systems in quality and accuracy of probabilistic assessment of dangerous meteorological phenomena and warns about such phenomena up to 5 days before. In addition, it has a great potential to increase the list of dangerous meteorological phenomena that should be warned about.
