The IBRAE RAN delegation visited the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM)

The IBRAE RAN delegation headed by the Director Leonid A. Bolshov visited the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) on October 21-22, 2015.

Signing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Nuclear Safety Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute of the Ministry of Science and Technologies of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

The IBRAE delegation met with the VINATOM President Tran Chi Thanh and VINATOM specialists. The Parties exchanged the information related to their activity since the previous meeting in May 2015. During this period, IBRAE RAN prepared the technical-commercial proposal for development and establishment of the national system of radiation monitoring and the prevention of radiation environmental contamination in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam based upon the Russian experience as well as a draft of the Memorandum of Understanding between IBRAE RAN and VINATOM.

The VINATOM specialists appreciated highly the level of the Russian technologies in the field of development and creation of radiation monitoring and emergency response systems, and appraised the possibilities of their implementation on the basis of experience accumulated by IBRAE RAN. The Parties discussed the action plan on immediate prospects to advance the project on establishment of the national system of radiation monitoring in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Memorandum of Understanding between IBRAE RAN and VINATOM was initialled during the visit, and was further officially signed.
